Tonight marks the beginning of a new lunar phase, which we call a New Moon. A gorgeous moon phase to be used for your magical manifestation processes. A sacred space with opportunities to create new beginnings. So are you ready for a fresh start?

Every month, the sun and the moon align in the heavens, starting a new lunar cycle. A new beginning, if you will. Our ancestors quickly learned that a new moon was the perfect time to plant seeds, as bugs were less likely to find the seeds during this darkest time of the month. And just as our ancestors used to do, we too can plant our seeds of intention during a new moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is a New Moon?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During a full moon, we see the side of the moon that is being illuminated by the sun. This gives the moon its bright, glowing appearance. However, during a New Moon<\/strong>, we see the side of the moon that is not being illuminated by the sun, because the sun and moon are perfectly aligned. Some might even call this the dark side of the moon. It’s that time of the month where the moon seems to blend in perfectly with the dark sky, making the stars appear to be even brighter than usual.

This makes a new moon all about darkness and stillness. Because a new moon represents the start of a new lunar cycle, it also symbolises new beginnings. This is the perfect time to use this magical lunar energy to set new goals, create a new beginning or start a new project. Your slate has been wiped cleaned and you get a fresh new start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Moon Invocation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A quick new moon prayer or meditation always does wonders! With the prayer above, you can get started right away. Sit back, take a couple of deep breathes and relax.

Just relax and allow for your body to feel heavy, as you go deeper and deeper into relaxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read the words of the invocation, read it out loud if you can. It\u2019s really important to actually feel the words, feel the affirmations and all emotions that this brings up. Then feel yourself opening up to all possibilities, intentions and wishes for the future.

You can stay in this moment for as long as you want, really soaking up all that delicious new moon energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Moon Ritual<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A New Moon ritual focuses on reaching new levels of success in any area of your liking. It’s about setting intentions and planting seeds in your inner (mental) garden, all to reach your highest potential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In shaman practices, fire is one of the most important tools of transformation. It truly serves us as a way to transmute energies that no longer serve us and change it into something positive, like a phoenix rising from the ashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let’s use this transformational tool to create a fresh beginning for yourself. Grab a piece of paper, a pen and perhaps even some of your favourite crystals to join you in this ritual. A bit of incense<\/a>, sage<\/a> of palo santo<\/a> to clear away negative energies, is also perfect during a new moon practice.

Make sure that you are relaxed and won\u2019t be disturbed while doing this. You really want to set the mood for this gorgeous new moon ritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019re relaxed, write down all your new intentions or affirmations. Journal as if there’s no limit to your possibilities. Write it all down, everything that you wish to create in this life. There is no right or wrong. Think of new projects, new goals, new things you want to magnetize into your life, new adventures and events. You want to include all areas of your life, such as your health, financial wealth, your home, relationships, personal growth, everything. And… make sure to phrase it all positively, as that helps nurture the new energy you\u2019re welcoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now take the piece of paper \u2013 fold it if it\u2019s too big \u2013 and while saying the invocation, burn the piece of paper in a fire. While seeing this paper burn, imagine all your intentions floating towards the sky and new moon. As you do so, let it all go and trust in the process that everything will work out for your greatest good.
